Basic Life Support
Why BLS- Basic Life Support?
Basic life support refers to the level of medical care used by healthcare professionals for victims with an obstructed airway, respiratory distress, and cardiopulmonary emergencies. These skills require the knowledge of CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), AED (automated defibrillator) skills, and relieving foreign-body airway obstruction. In addition, it involves initial assessment, maintenance of the airway, rescue breathing/mouth-to-mouth ventilation/expired air ventilation, and chest compressions. This course is for medical providers or those going to school and are required by their institution.
