Why ACLS- Advanced Cardiac Life Support?
Advanced Cardiac Life Support refers to the level of medical care used by specialty medical care providers for victims with an obstructed airway, respiratory distress, and cardiopulmonary emergencies. These skills require the knowledge of CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), AED (automated defibrillator) skills, and relieving foreign-body airway obstruction. In addition, it involves initial assessment, maintenance of the airway, rescue breathing/mouth-to-mouth ventilation/expired air ventilation, and chest compressions. This course will also instruct you on the basic of how to read and interpret basic 4-lead ECGs (electrocardiogram) and 12-lead ECGs. ACLS courses are designed for professional healthcare providers who participate in the assessment and management of critical patients, including those working in in-hospital, pre-hospital, and out-of-hospital medical facilities.
